So we really do know that food is just food. We consume it. We get the nutrients and energy required to live. Fuel. Simple.
But even so, you and I have powerful – usually undistinguished – stories attached to food. Reward. Protection. Love. Relieving boredom. Creativity. Survival. Self-expression. Probably as many stories as there are people on the planet and moments in the day.
That being said, we are inspired by food and all its possibilities. There is no truth to anything we say here about recipes or history or culture or restaurants or family or friends. This is just our expression of what’s there for us regarding food. And life.
We hope some of it resonates for you. Let us know on our Contact the Beest page.
About FoodBeest
FoodBeest is the Writer, the Cook, the Ruminator, an Omnivore, and the Original FoodBeest. She loves the personal and shared memories, aspirations, self-expression, and just sensory delight that food evokes.
She is not a trained chef or a professional recipe writer. A totally self-taught cook, FoodBeest owes much to her mother Florence, her grandmother Tillie, and her former mother-in-law and current friend Carline.
FoodBeest is privileged to live in Chicago, currently one of the most notable food Meccas on the planet, but loves the opportunity to travel and taste around the country and around world. As did her parents and grandparents before her, her children share her interest and curiosity about food. Her son is a professionally trained and accomplished chef.
About Mr. FB
Mr. FB is FoodBeest’s chief IT guy. In addition to being the Alpha Geek, Mr. CG is this site’s principal supporter, taster, critic, photographer, and kitchen clean-up master. He has taken on the inspiring role of being personally accountable for the success of this blog. FoodBeest wants to take this opportunity to publicly appreciate, acknowledge, and honor who he is and the generous love and commitment he provides.
Besides, as his mother always said, he is a very good eater.

Who is Mr. FB?
Your food web log is a great idea. But calling you the FoodBeest is not correct… maybe FoodMaven or FoodDiva…but you are certainly not a beast. Perhaps Michael could be considered the FoodBeest since he devours your creations voratiously.
